About The Lilith Fund
We envision a society in which equal access to abortion is guaranteed for all, regardless of economic situation. The Lilith Fund believes in reproductive equity. The right to choose an abortion is meaningless without access to abortion services. Restrictions on abortion access and funding are discriminatory because they especially burden low-income patients. We oppose all efforts to restrict abortion rights and are committed to fighting for access to abortion.

What Does The Lilith Fund Do?
The Lilith Fund assists Texans in exercising their fundamental right to abortion by removing barriers to access. Lilith provides:

  • Direct financial assistance and counseling to empower people seeking to terminate an unwanted pregnancy
  • Education and outreach within the community about reproductive rights

Why Does The Lilith Fund Exist?
The Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling made abortion legal in every state. Unfortunately, the 1976 Hyde Amendment cut off federal funding for abortion care, creating a dual standard where the “right to choose” exists only for those who can afford it. One in every three women has an abortion, in a country where 12% of women live in poverty. Many low income people now find a safe, legal abortion beyond their reach and are forced to carry unwanted pregnancies to term.

The Lilith Fund funds abortion and advocates for change through the movement for reproductive justice.

Our vision is a Texas where all people have the means  and opportunity to plan their futures and families with dignity, respect and community support.

Accountability: We will be ethical, open and honest in all of our practices and we will be good stewards of resources.

Respect: We will treat others with dignity and compassion and support their autonomy.

Trust: We will ensure the confidentiality and prioritize the safety of the clients we serve.

Diversity: We will include the voices of the people we serve in all that we do. The Lilith Fund will work to build an antiracist organization.

Courage: We will honor and celebrate the bravery demonstrated by the clients we serve, our volunteers, staff and donors in working for reproductive justice.

Statement on Racism
Some of the obstacles that people face in exercising their reproductive options are caused by race, immigration status, and language barriers. The Lilith Fund understands that racism plays a part of policies, systems, and the everyday lives of the people we serve. We have a responsibility to accept that racism has played a part in the reproductive history of the United States, and not to continue to perpetuate racism.
